Légion française des combattants et des volontaires de la Révolution nationale Cochinchine
This record relates to approximately 3,000 members of the Union of the so-called “Légion française des combattants et des volontaires de la Révolution nationale” in Cochinchine, South Vietnam. Original documents now held at the Archives Nationales d'Outre Mer—Mairie d'Aix-en-Provence, were compiled on the 8th of December 1942, and the list of persons is marked as complete. Admissions to the Légion after that date are not included.

This record is part of a group of data resources tracing European persons who were resident or serving in East Asia during the early 20th century and who were displaced as a result of national border changes and conflicts. It is one component of Divisive Power of Citizenship—an SNSF-funded project (grant number 100011_184860/1).
The dataset contains the names of 32 American citizens interned in the Civilian Internment Camp in Mytho, some 70 kilometres outside of Saigon.

Commission nationale des déportés et internés politiques ou résistants d'Indochine pour la guerre 1939 - 1945
The source material was separeted by applicants and members of the commission, however not by the status déporté ou d'interné résistant or déporté ou d'interné politique. The lists were compiled from 1950 to 1968, and the publication date was set for the commission's last meeting.

Duplicates were not registered on all occurrences, but only at the first one. The confication wer executed during the War with Germany from September 1939 to June 1940.
